Episode 10
TODAY’S READING:
By faith, we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible.
Hebrews 11:3
Happy Friday! Before we jump into the devotional for today, I wanted to let you know that I would love for you to email me if you have any prayer requests or praise reports! I would love to share them on the emails and on the podcast next week for all of us to pray over together.
Okay, now onto the devotional.
When I read this verse, it reminds me of one thing. We are all unique and perfect., you are enough, I am enough.
You see, when we read this verse, it says that by faith, we know God created the universe. He spoke it into existence. What is so beautiful is that he had no point of reference. This means he wasn’t eating marshmallows one morning and said, now let’s put these in the sky, and we will call them clouds.
You know, I don’t know about you, but I can spend hours on Pinterest, looking for inspiration for room decor, I create vision boards of a future home, I look up fashion ideas. My sister was recently engaged, and her whole wedding will be planned on a Pinterest board.
What’s beautiful is that I am human, and I find inspiration through the works of others. The difference is that God didn’t look at Pinterest to find what color eyes He wanted to give you. He doesn’t have a secret board labeled “{{ subscriber.firstName | default(‘Alison’) }}’s Features”. In the same way, he created the earth and all of the trees with no point of reference. He made you with no point of reference.
Therefore, you are perfectly unique, and you are enough.
PRAYER
Heavenly Father, we thank you for yet another beautiful day. We thank you for another week. We stand in awe, Lord. We stand in awe when we realize the true depths of your creative self. When we fully understand that you made us exactly how you intended. With every dimple, hair strand, and eye color. You know our very essence. When we chose to judge ourselves or others, I pray we remember that you are our creator. You love us; therefore, we should love ourselves and others with the same kind of love. We pray this in your Holy name, Amen!
