Episode 20

But he knows the way that I take;

when he has tested me, I will come forth as gold.

Job 23:10

Do you struggle with having patience? You know I have a lot of patience, I will walk through the same conversation 1 million times. My full-time job consists of reviewing reports with my clients, and every single month we review the same data. It doesn’t bother me, really. My client can as the same question every single day, and I will answer them without any sense of resentment.

But then there are other things in my life that just take all of the patience out of me. This is where God tests me.

I am telling you when it comes to things like my business. I want to see overnight success. Why can’t my business explode overnight? Then I can have enough money to quit my job. Listen, I can go in circles for hours. All I end up with are a lot of what-ifs, and honestly, wasted time.

Patience understands there is a season for absolutely everything. To some people, I can talk about my podcast getting 1200+ downloads, and it seems like an overnight success, but how many of you know that I started writing these in October. There is no such thing as overnight success. So why would I expect any different in any of my business ventures?

So, what season of waiting are yours currently in? Are you waiting for the love of your life? Are you waiting for your business to take off? Are you waiting for the perfect moment to serve your church? Are you waiting for Monday to start taking care of your body?

We would waste so much time if we wasted our season of waiting. God is trying to teach you a valuable lesson. He is trying to give you the tools so that you can conquer next season. So be comfortable with the waiting. Don’t sit there and waste time. Be proactive. Lean on God. Learn something new, get to know someone new. Do you know what will happen if you took advantage of this season?

You will come forth as Gold.

Jesus, thank you for every season and every lesson. God, when we become anxious and feel our patience start to slip, I pray we turn to you. I pray we ask you what is the lesson you are trying to teach us. Beyond that, I pray we have the will to listen to you and to actually learn from it. Continue to push us, continue to refine us. Lord, we want to come forth as Gold. So let us get comfortable with being uncomfortable. We love you; we honor you. In your mighty name, we pray, Amen!

Hi, I'm Ali.
I want to encourage you on your faith journey!

I'm the coffee obsessed baker from Miami, FL who got too busy to find time to read scripture everyday. I knew my life was better with Jesus and I knew I wasn't the only one struggling with finding alone time with God every morning, so I put my dreams of opening a bakery aside and set out to produce a five minute daily devotional. What first started as an email chain, has now flourished into a beautiful community and I am so happy you are here!

We are a faith based community in pursuit of daily prayer. All it takes is five minutes - we know you're busy but He loves you still.
