Episode 37
TODAY’S READING:
21 Do not be terrified by them, for the Lord your God, who is among you, is a great and awesome God.
Deuteronomy 7:21
Tuesday’s have a special place in my heart. It’s Taco Night and Star Wars night at the house. It’s a new tradition Quarantine gave me.
For today’s prayer, I wanted to look for God in everything that is happening. Quarantine didn’t just give us all new traditions like Taco Nights and Game Nights, but it gave the world a lot of free time on their hands to do a lot of research on the corruption of the world.
It is written that in this world, there will be a pain. Our hearts break for the missing children, the war on drugs, and all of the terrible injustice that is served on a daily basis, as it should. But I wanted us to be full of prayer today as we embark on another day.
Let’s not be terrified by them, as this verse says. Don’t become paralyzed with fear. With every day, the news becomes heavier and heavier, and it’s easy to want to throw in the towel and say this world isn’t worth saving.
Just remember as we go about our days that in Ephesians 6:10-18 it says: For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
This means that there is a war we cannot see. The enemy will use people to do his dirty work for him. But we have to hold on to the goodness of our God. He is fighting our battles with us. Let’s declare this verse together: the Lord your God, who is among you, is a great and awesome God.
PRAYER
Heavenly Father, you are a good good father. You take care of us, you fight our battles, and you shower us in love, grace, and mercy. Lord, we are asking that you heal our land. It seems as if every day, the news becomes heavier and heavier. It seems like every day, the cases continue to rise, and a new discovery has been made. We know the enemy will use people and industries of influence to do his work, but we cling to you and the truth that you fight our battles, that you are awesome, that you are great and nothing in this great universe has the power to overstep your perfect plan. We hand it all over to you. We ask that you guide us, heal us, and show us where to go so that we can continue to fight the good fight. We love you, and it is in your mighty name that we pray, Amen!
