Episode 58
TODAY’S READING:
but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary; they will walk and not be faint.
Isaiah 40:31
Today’s Devotional was written by my dear friend, Steven Samper:
Everyone is going through different battles every day, some of them are short-term, and some of them are long and extremely difficult and seemingly impossible. It may even look like a sickness that is overtaking your body. Sometimes the battle is so overwhelming that it knocks you down, and you wonder if you should even get back up to keep fighting. We’ve all been there, and it’s perfectly okay to feel that way. I know I did at different points of my life.
This verse tells us to hope in the Lord, and our strength will be renewed. A couple of verses before you will read that the Lord will not grow weary or faint and will give strength to those who are…yes, the same God who created the Earth and didn’t grow tired gives us our strength. And you know what’s even more amazing? God is in every single one of us. He dwells in all of our friends, family, and loved ones. His strength is already within us. He uses everyone for His good works.
So when the battle seems impossible and you feel like you can’t hear from God, lean into your loved ones. I promise, and yes, you can hold me to this. God will speak to you through someone you would never expect. Don’t keep what you’re feeling or going through to yourself. You will be consumed by your thoughts and think of the worst possible outcomes. God is going to use the people around you to increase your mental, physical, and spiritual strength.
So the next time you’re in the middle of that storm, instead of falling to your knees to weep about the battle…fall to your knees and declare that the battle has already been won because God is a good good father and does not forsake His people. The same God that is with us in the mountaintop will surely meet us when we’re in the deepest of valleys. He will place us on wings to lift us up, soar high like an eagle, and take us to the place we need to be within ourselves to endure.
PRAYER
Heavenly Father, I want to thank you for using Alison and her daily devotional to deliver your word to your people. May you continue to use her Lord as she reaches more and more people every single day. Father, I pray that you meet all those who are listening to this today and are going through a storm. Give them the strength they need to keep going and save those who are on the brink of giving up. Remind us every day that you are in every single one of us and that our strength comes from you. May this word take root in their hearts, and may they continue to seek you every single day. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.
