Episode 92

TODAY’S READING:

Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly, we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are renewed day by day.

2 Corinthians 4:16

 

How many skincare items do you own? 

 

I told you yesterday about how I rearranged my room, but I didn’t tell you how I attempted to Maia Kondo my things. If the items in my room did not bring me joy – they were gone! 

 

I didn’t realize how many skincare products I owned until I had to remove them all from my vanity.

 

I read this verse this morning, and it was as if God was speaking straight into my soul: 

 

A skincare routine is vital for the appearance of your skin, but nothing compares to what a daily prayer routine can do for your soul. 

 

I’ve found in the last few months that when we commit to praying daily, things change. Your goals in life change, and I think it’s because they start to align closer to God’s plan for your life. 

 

Your relationships with others change. 

 

 Your view towards life changes. 

 

You can go through valleys differently. You grieve, but with a sense of underlying joy that our loved ones are dancing with Jesus. 

 

You can celebrate on the mountain tops with a sense of humility and peace. 

 

You transform into a different person. 

 

If you are interested in prolonging the perishing of your outward appearance, you should be using sunscreen every single day. No matter if you are outside or not. The damaging sun rays can penetrate through your windows. 

 

But if you are equally if not more interested in being renewed daily, in growing deeper in your faith and wisdom, then a daily prayer routine is where you should be focusing your attention. Our souls are worth far greater than our skincare routines. 

 

PRAYER

Jesus, we thank you that as we gracefully age, we also become greater people. Every day, we become wiser; every day, we become ready to take on the world with a Godly perspective. We thank you for equipping us when the going gets tough. We can live a transformed life because you walk with us deeper each day. I pray that you continue to speak into our souls, and I pray that we forever commit to a daily prayer routine. Let us see the world through your eyes. It is in your heavenly and holy name that we pray, Amen!
