Episode 96

TODAY’S READING:

22 “Have faith in God,” Jesus answered. 23 “truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them. 24 Therefore, I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

Mark 11:22-24

Good morning and Happy Monday!

I know – this title is very much a Christmas title and we are only in October, but the Holiday season is officially upon us, so I wanted to be festive. The next three months are my favorite three months of the year. I live for this season.

I hope you all had a beautiful weekend. I have two sisters. One that lives in Gainesville and the other lives with me in Miami. My mom lives in Nashville and there are a few weekends of the year where we are all together.

This past weekend was one of them. One of my sisters is getting married! We went Wedding Dress shopping and we found one! So many beautiful emotions were felt this weekend. We can add this day to one of my favorite days ever!

Much like wedding dress shopping, life can be similar. We have a picture in our heads of what we want. A healthy long life. Filled with loved ones. Filled with memories. Filled with supernatural favor. We make a list of the elements that make up the life we want to live – and we pray for them. Everyday. We pray that Jesus blesses our days. We pray He walks with us in every season. We know He does, but prayer gives us that comfort that He is listening.

We hope that our wishes will come true, and 10/10 times God outdoes our wishes. Sometimes He blesses us immediately, other times He does it ten years down the road. It really is according to His time.

I love this verse because Jesus is telling us to ask for the things we want. “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours” This is a huge deal. We have the power to ask for health and receive it. We have the power to ask for traits in a future spouse and receive it. The one condition is that we must ask in prayer.

So I hope this inspires you to take time out of your day today. Right down your list. What are you asking for? Is it a stable income? Is it a spouse? Is it healthy? Is it a new circle of faith-filled friends? Is it a new business or career? What do you need? Make a list, check it twice, and pray for it.

God will outdo your list, but you must have faith that what you are asking for you have already received.

Start walking and talking, as if you are already healthy and your body is healed. Start walking and talking as if you already landed that dream job. Start walking and talking as if your income is stable. Start walking and talking as if what you are praying for, is yours.

PRAYER

Father God, we thank you for walking with us daily. We thank you for listening to our requests when we pray in private. The bible says you know the innermost part of our hearts, yet we will write down our requests and make them known to you. We will walk and talk as if what we are praying for is already ours. We have the faith to see you move mountains. We know you wish to see us blessed, and we are blessed to be a blessing in others. Father, we pray the impossible is done in our lives. In our health, in our families, in our finances, and in our homes. May we bless others and may they see you in us. We have the faith to see it through. It is in your Holy Name that we pray, Amen!
