Episode 114

TODAY’S READING:

The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God endures forever.”

Isaiah 40:8

 

People and seasons may come and go, but God endures forever.

 

I love the word Endure.

 

There are items in our lives that were made to endure. You wear rain boots to ensure your feet are protected from water. They were made out of a special material that they won’t erode over time under wet conditions. But even rain boots can melt when thrown into the fire.

 

When training for a marathon, you start small and build your way up. 1/2 a mile turns into a mile, which turns into 5 and then ten. Before you know it, you can run 1/2 a marathon, and with time, you’ve accomplished your goal, and you’re crossing that finish line at one of Disney’s Running events. It takes time and several days of running to build that endurance. But you know, one twisted ankle, and you are out of the race.

 

There are few things that will endure eternity. Rivers dry, mountains crumble, but the love of our God will never fail.

 

God endures forever. Meaning he will last through the dark. Not only will he withstand rainy days, but he will outlive mountains and rivers. He was there at the very beginning, and he will be there at the very end. He knew you before you were born, and he is eager to spend eternity with you in heaven.

 

If there is one thing you need to walk away with today, it’s that God’s love lasts. You know that flaky person in your life. We’ve all had those friendships. Here one moment went the next. Jesus is not like that. He promises to never leave nor forsake you.

 

Count on Him. Tell him what you need; he is listening.

 

PRAYER

Jesus, we need your love now more than ever. Make your presence be known. We need you in our every day and today is no different. God, we know that your love will endure. It endures when we mess up. It endures when we think we are alone. We know we are never alone. Thank you for blessing us with another day. Help us in achieving today’s goals. It is in your Holy name that we pray, Amen!
