Episode 116
TODAY’S READING:
The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace.
Romans 8:6
Thousands and thousands of thoughts race our minds every single day. Are you coming into your Monday ready to tackle the week ahead of you? Are you entering the week in a posture of gratitude and readiness? Or are you complaining about the tasks in front of you?
What is God teaching you today? What is he asking you to trust him with that you are comparing and complaining about? Is it a promotion? A pay increase? A new car? A new house? A new job? Bearing children? A season of engagement?
Position yourself to be thankful for where you find yourself today and start speaking life into your situation.
I get to go to work today.
I get to drive an hour to my job.
I get to go to the gym.
I get to eat food today, even if it’s healthy and not what I want to eat.
This verse says that when we are governed by the flesh (the what we see here and now) vs. the spirit, we are trapped in a cycle of death. We aren’t literally dying, but a life that can’t produce good fruit isn’t a life I want to live. So how do we fix that? We fix our minds.
The spirit says we are wonderfully made. The spirit says we are protected. The Spirit promises to give us strength, blessing, abundance.
We have to start thinking that way. When we think it, we say it. When we say it, we create it. Before you know it, the lessons God was trying to teach you will be learned much faster than when you were sitting there complaining.
So get ready for the day ahead of you. Get ready for the week in front of you. You got this. The spirit resides inside of you, and no matter how big the mountain is ahead of you, all you need is a mustard seed of faith, and your day will be transformed.
PRAYER
Father God helps us transform our minds. Remind us to stick to positive thinking. Remind us what the spirit has to say about our situations. Don’t let our circumstances paralyze us. Father, we all struggle with this from time to time but help us overcome these thoughts. We know you have a life full of abundance waiting for us. Help us in walking into that life by speaking it into existence. What we think we say and let it be what you have to say. We pray for the day ahead of us. It is in your Holy name that we pray, Amen!
