Episode 128

TODAY’S READING:

I will give thanks to the LORD because of his righteousness; I will sing the praises of the name of the LORD Most High.

Psalm 7:17

Surgery Day!

Good morning everyone! Today is the day of my surgery! The surgeon called yesterday to confirm the time of my surgery, and it isn’t until 3 pm today. So I will be anxiously waiting for three p.m.! Please keep me in your prayers. It’s nothing crazy I should be out in an hour to an hour and a half, but I am praying that this procedure will be my first step on a path to reclaiming my health. More like I am declaring it in His name!

I thought this verse was fitting for today. I will give thanks to the Lord because of his righteousness. I was worshipping in the car yesterday. Really listening to so many great songs that just fill me in His presence, and I couldn’t help but break down crying yesterday.

Today’s verse. Today’s prayer, everything about today I want it to be about Jesus and his goodness. I will sing His praises in my life and yours.

I don’t know what you are walking. You could be sick, or you could be on the hippest point of a mountain top celebrating victory. You could have lost loved ones to COVID-19. Maybe you’re battling the virus now, or someone extremely close to you is.

This year has been a wild ride for us all, between all that happened from the Australian fires, to the pandemic, to the natural disasters in the Philippines and South America, and to top it off, the United States Election. Things change from minute to minute. The news changes, the weather changes, seasons come and go literally and figuratively.

I had a baking business at the beginning of this year, and now I produce daily podcast devotions.

We live in an ever-changing world, but there is one constant force. One constant light. One constant King of our lives. His name is Jesus, and he has never failed us. He will never fail us. The bibelot says, “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.”

Let us do as today’s verse says. Let us sing the praises of the name of the Lord most high. God is in control. He has me in the palm of his hands as I surrender my health to him, and he has you as you walk through this season. We don’t know what tomorrow will bring, we don’t know what 2021 will bring, but we do know that there is one constant confidant, one constant father, one constant agape love, and that’s Jesus.

PRAYER

Jesus, we love you! We honor you, and we sing your praises. Jesus, we are so grateful to have you in our lives. We love that we get to walk this life with you going before us. We surrender our anxieties to you. Jesus, we sing your praises, and we lift you high. I pray that you cover me in protection today, and I pray that you cover the family on the other side of this mic. Jesus, you know what they are walking through; you know the miracles they need. Bless them, father. It is in your holy name that we pray, Amen!

Hi, I'm Ali.
I want to encourage you on your faith journey!

I'm the coffee obsessed baker from Miami, FL who got too busy to find time to read scripture everyday. I knew my life was better with Jesus and I knew I wasn't the only one struggling with finding alone time with God every morning, so I put my dreams of opening a bakery aside and set out to produce a five minute daily devotional. What first started as an email chain, has now flourished into a beautiful community and I am so happy you are here!

MY TESTIMONY

We are a faith based community in pursuit of daily prayer. All it takes is five minutes - we know you're busy but He loves you still.
