Episode 137

TODAY’S READING:

I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Romans 15:13

Tuesday already! I am officially back in my morning routine and back at work. Thank you so much for all of the love and prayers. Tomorrow is two weeks post-op, and I’m feeling almost 100%!

Today is our Advent prayer number 7, and we are continuing to look at the word of God to reflect on who Jesus was and is so that we may celebrate this month with much appreciation.

This verse is beautiful. It never gets old; I know we prayed over this verse a few months ago, but every time you read it and every time I read it, we can go further in revelation as it continues to speak to us in different seasons.

I like that it says I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in Him.

It’s almost like a math problem.

If Jesus had one jar of hope and Alison had 10lbs of trust, how much joy and peace will Jesus give Alison?

This month is about one thing, celebrating the birth of Jesus. Through that, we get memories with family and friends that last us a lifetime.

As we continue to study His character, I wanted to turn to this verse. It says he is the God of Hope. So if you need hope, this one is for you. God is the father of hope. The God of new beginnings, the everlasting, the one you can count on when you think you have nothing left. All you need to do is bring trust to the table. In return, he will fill you with joy and peace. So the next time you look at a mountain, and you think to yourself, there is no way I can get through this season, I pray you to turn to Jesus, and you say, God, I TRUST you.

Only He can fill us with joy and peace.

When we walk away from a life-transforming conversation like that, we walk away forever changed, filled with the confidence of the Holy Spirit.

So trust Him. Trust in Him. He can do so much with these last three weeks of the year. He can do so much with your 2021. He can do so much with the season you are in.

PRAYER

Jesus, we thank you for filling us with the confidence of the Holy Spirit. We are after that glow that only your joy and peace can provide. We know that you are the God of Hope, and Lord, this year tested us. We may have had a hard time accepting the challenges you gave us, but I know we became stronger because of them. So we put our trust in you. I pray we finish this year strong. We give you this day; we give you our 2021 and all our days to come. It is in your holy name that we pray, AMEN!

Hi, I'm Ali.
I want to encourage you on your faith journey!

I'm the coffee obsessed baker from Miami, FL who got too busy to find time to read scripture everyday. I knew my life was better with Jesus and I knew I wasn't the only one struggling with finding alone time with God every morning, so I put my dreams of opening a bakery aside and set out to produce a five minute daily devotional. What first started as an email chain, has now flourished into a beautiful community and I am so happy you are here!

MY TESTIMONY

We are a faith based community in pursuit of daily prayer. All it takes is five minutes - we know you're busy but He loves you still.
