Episode 145
TODAY’S READING:
3 Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. 4 There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism; 6 one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.
Ephesians 4:3-6
Good morning and Friday! The countdown to Christmas has officially begun! One Week to the best Holiday of the year. I absolutely love this week, as it’s full of love and laughter surrounded by family. I hope you all stay extremely safe and continue to wash your hands and not touch your face. There are still so many families affected, some more serious than others, and we will pray for them today.
I know we’ve been looking to scripture to prepare for Christmas. This verse is talking about one God that we all love so much. There is no other God in the world. Just the one. So we are called to keep the peace; we are called to be full of hope and spread love and faith.
This verse says we are called to one God who is over all and through all and in all. He is everywhere. He knows everything. We sometimes get so worried about the things we cannot control. This is my number one problem. Our worries come from a lack of control. But if we just switched the focus to taking care of what we can control, we would be much happier.
What if, instead of worrying about the What-Ifs in life, we started worrying about how we react to situations, what we put in our bodies, how we speak to others, what we do with our time, how we spread our faith. That is everything I can control. You will have more peace in your everyday life, which in return will grant you more joy.
So take this and hold onto it this weekend. Remember, as emotions fly and things begin to happen, can you control the outcome? No, then bring it to peace and give it to Him. He is already over it, through it, and in it.
PRAYER
Father God, we praise you; we can feel your presence, Lord. It’s the reason for the season, yet things look so different this year. We are all walking and navigating through this year with extra caution and, to be honest, fear. We first wanted to pray for all of the families affected by this virus; a week before Christmas, we are declaring healing Lord. Please reunite these patients with their families in time for Christmas. Lord, we pray for those alone this Holiday season; may they remember they are never alone. Lastly, I pray for the person and me on the other side of this mic. May we make a conscious effort to discard the worries of the things we cannot control. We give it all to you. We love you, and it is in your Holy Name that we pray, AMEN!
