Episode 148

TODAY’S READING:

4 But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, 5 To redeem those under the law, that we might receive adoption to sonship.

Galatians 4:4-5

Happy Wednesday! It’s basically Friday for me. Today is my last day of work for 2020!

Today’s devotional is short and sweet! We are still preparing for Christmas, so today is our 18th prayer of Advent. I love the opening line to this verse. But then the set time had fully come.

The set time.

Meaning God had already set that year, that day apart. He set it aside for Jesus. Then He came, and he redeemed us.

God works no different with us. He has set a special time aside for you. I am the kind of person who is always saying the words I can’t wait for…

This serves as a reminder for me; God already has that date set aside for me. But my job now is to honor the season He has me in.

PRAYER

Father God, you are the God of wonders. You have seen our stories, father. You know you have set time aside for us. When the Time comes, we will walk boldly in what you have called us to do. Until then, ground us. Make us ever-present. Let us lean into the present. We love you, and we honor you. Bless our family and friends. Bless the day ahead of us. In your mighty name, we pray, AMEN!
