Episode 173

Blessed are the peacemakers,

for they will be called children of God.

Matthew 5:9

Do you affirm yourself daily? You should! It is so vital to our growth as individuals. Understanding where your identity lies, who is your creator, what you’ve been created to do; are all pillars to the success you’ll have in your world. When we understand our confidence comes from the Lord, it will be merely impossible for someone else to steal that.

Repetition is key to affirmations. I created a graphic, and I will be posting it on our IG so that you can save it and come back to it. But God has a lot to say about you, and I hope you repeat these to yourself often.

I did an episode similar to this a few months back, and if you were with me then, you might remember, but like I said, repetition is key, so let’s try and absorb these affirmations again.

This verse says we will be called children of God. So first and foremost, we are children of the most high.

In Psalm 107:2 it reads: Let the redeemed of the Lord tell their story—

those he redeemed from the hand of the foe,

The affirmation here is that we are Redeemed. “I am redeemed” We no longer serve the hand of the enemy, of the world.

Ephesians 6:10 says, “Finally, be strong in the Lord and his mighty power.”

Affirmation: I am Strong in the Lord

Romans 8:37 reads, “No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.”

Affirmation: I am more than a conqueror.

1 John 4:4 reads, “You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.”

Affirmation: I am an Overcomer

There is so much to be said from the Bible. If you have the time, Google “Christian Affirmations” and find the ones that speak to you and your situation. Write them on note cards, but them somewhere visible. Remind yourself daily who you are and watch how you tackle life differently.

Father God, we thank you for creating us in your image. We thank you for all of the kind words you have to say about us, which are clearly written over and over again in scripture. I ask that you remind us of these things when our self-esteem takes a hit. Whenever we struggle or simply need a nudge to keep going, remind us that you call us your children, remind us that we are redeemed, remind us that we are righteous. We are strong. We are more than conquerors. It is in your Holy name that we pray, Amen!

Hi, I'm Ali.
I want to encourage you on your faith journey!

I'm the coffee obsessed baker from Miami, FL who got too busy to find time to read scripture everyday. I knew my life was better with Jesus and I knew I wasn't the only one struggling with finding alone time with God every morning, so I put my dreams of opening a bakery aside and set out to produce a five minute daily devotional. What first started as an email chain, has now flourished into a beautiful community and I am so happy you are here!

We are a faith based community in pursuit of daily prayer. All it takes is five minutes - we know you're busy but He loves you still.
