Episode 205

TODAY’S READING:

25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?

Matthew 6:25

It’s possible we prayed this recently, I know we have in the past, but today it spoke to me a little differently. I had the word trust in my heart, and when I read this, it just hit me.

Do you I really trust Him?

They say healthy relationships are built on trust. You’ve heard the words before, “If we don’t have trust, we don’t have anything.” We understand how important that is in romantic relationships, but why is it any different in our relationships with Christ?

This verse is saying do not worry about your life. What will you eat or drink, what will you wear. Is not life more than food…

Think about that saying, is life not more than food, and the body more than clothes.

In short, of course, there is so much more to life. The relationships we build, the memories we make, the love we experience, yet sometimes we sacrifice all of these moments, we sacrifice our moments while we are paralyzed in worry.

A lot of the time, we treat our jobs, the number in the bank, the numbers of likes on Tik Tok, and the number of followers on Instagram as if it were the clothes on our bodies. The thing is, none of these things will sustain us.

We must trust God. We must trust that He will never allow us to go hungry. We must trust that He always has our best interest in mind. We must trust what is written in the Bible. We must trust what He has to say about us. Without trust, we make this relationship about us and not about Him.

PRAYER

Jesus, we ask that you help us build trust when we start to slip from your ways. We ask that you help us realign ourselves to your word. We are sorry for the times we doubt you; we are sorry for the times we take back the reins of our lives. We forget just how perfect you are. We forget that you will never hurt us nor forsake us. We know that trust is everything, and today, we chose to put our trust in you. We love you and ask that you bless this day and the weekend ahead of us. It is in your Holy name that we pray, AMEN!
