Episode 223

TODAY’S READING:

May your unfailing love be my comfort, according to your promise to your servant.

Psalm 119:76

People fail us every day. There are things that are said in the midst of an argument, and you wish you can take them back, but the reality is that they can never be taken back. We can sometimes partake in activities that cause division among our relationships.

We can sometimes hurt one another. Be at war with one another, Misunderstand one another.

The truth is that we are all human, and we seek deep connections with each other. There is nothing wrong with this. We were created to live in the community. But when we realize that the ultimate comforter is Jesus and His unfailing love, even when we are devastated by the actions of our friends and family, we know that we are imperfect. Failure, destruction, it’s in our nature.

The one true comforter comes from above; He resides within. When we learn to lean on Him even through the most challenging seasons, we will be all the stronger because of it.

PRAYER

Father God, we look to you for comfort. We ask you to shield us, to hold us, to comfort us. We ask that you provide a safe place in your presence that we may retreat to. We ask that we lean on you and not on our imperfect community. We ask that we give our family and our friends’ grace. We ask you to help us in seeing the world through your lens. It is with everything in us that we pray, AMEN and AMEN.

Hi, I'm Ali.
I want to encourage you on your faith journey!

I'm the coffee obsessed baker from Miami, FL who got too busy to find time to read scripture everyday. I knew my life was better with Jesus and I knew I wasn't the only one struggling with finding alone time with God every morning, so I put my dreams of opening a bakery aside and set out to produce a five minute daily devotional. What first started as an email chain, has now flourished into a beautiful community and I am so happy you are here!

MY TESTIMONY

We are a faith based community in pursuit of daily prayer. All it takes is five minutes - we know you're busy but He loves you still.
