Episode 225

TODAY’S READING:

And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him.

1 John 5:15

I read this verse and I felt like God spoke something into my spirit. It’s a little bit of a continuation from yesterday’s thought.

I read this and I was a little confused because I actually rarely get what I quote on qoute want. Think about it, sometimes we ask for things and we don’t get what we want. We have detailed plans and God changes them on us, almost every time.

Yet, we can look back in our lives and look for the moments that we’ve asked for something and clearly see how we were given something better.

When I read this verse I saw this story paint in my head. Sometimes what we plan and what we get are two entirely different things, but I guess, every time we do actually get what we want. Let me explain.

I was in a season praying for a boyfriend for many years. I wanted a man to walk into my life and change it. I waited patiently and was blessed with the most incredible person, but in that time of waiting I didn’t get what I wanted but I did at the same time. I was asking for a boyfriend, but really want I wanted was companionship. God surrounded me with the closest of friends and the most inspiring circle of people in my connect group at the time.

He did give me exactly what I needed, people to share my life with, it just wasn’t packaged the way I wanted.

I can almost guarantee He is meeting your every demand right now, it might just not be packaged the way you had planned. Pull back the layers of your life, and look for the things you want most and try to find ways in which he is providing exactly that.

PRAYER

Father, you are a good good father. You bless us abundantly and we are so ever grateful for you. Thank you for always proving us exactly what we need when we need it. Thank you for satisfying the craving in our soul. We ask that you bless the day and the weekend ahead of us, it is in your Holy name that we pray, AMEN!
