Episode 233
TODAY’S READING:
David also said to Solomon, his son, “Be strong and courageous and do the work. Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the LORD God; my God, is with you. He will not fail you or forsake you until all the work for the service of the temple of the LORD is finished.
1 Chronicle 28:20
I set out to produce these prayers as a way to keep myself accountable. This was the prayer for the day, and I am always in awe of God’s timing.
Naturally, I get tired sometimes; I am sure we all do. I produce these podcasts really late at night after everyone in the house is asleep so that you don’t hear them walking around and talking. I also do it this way because it’s nice to be alone with Jesus in a quiet room. But truthfully, I get tired sometimes.
We are all allowed to be tired. We were made to find rest. Even God rested on the seventh day. I think He did this to show us the importance of finding the time to rest.
But today’s verse isn’t about resting; today’s verse was the perfect verse for this Wednesday morning! We are halfway through the week, and we have a word to do. So do the work. Don’t be afraid, don’t be discouraged, because even when you are tired, even when you want to rest your eyes, God is with you. He will not fail you or forsake you. We gotta keep doing the work.
Like I said in yesterday’s prayer. We are all doing His work, and it’s important for us to understand that even when we are tired or even when we are scared, we know we can be strong and courageous in Him.
PRAYER
Father God, thank you for giving us the strength and the courage to keep going. Thank you for never failing us. Thank you for never forsaking us. Jesus, when we need rest, I pray we go to you before we turn to any worldly outlet. We love you with everything in us; we ask that you bless the day ahead of us, AMEN!
