For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly also be united with him in a resurrection like his.
Thursday already! I hope you’ve all had a wonderful week so far.
I read this verse, and I thought of all the things Jesus took to the grave for me. He took my arrogance and all my faults. He took my need to be right. My need for validation. He took the gossiper in me—the one who falls short of righteousness.
But on that resurrection day, all of the good things in me lived. Those good things were given to me by my father in heaven. The same can be said for you.
All of the good things live in you. The kindness, gentleness, the self-control. The purity of thought and action. The best version of your life.
So when you feel like you start acting out of line, remember that those traits were taken to the grave. No need to dwell on it but look to the good that lives within. That is the power you can tap into to change the day ahead.
Jesus, we thank you for taking our arrogance, our sinful nature, and all the destruction within us to the grave. Because of you, we are not bound to that. We do not have to live in fear. We thank you, and we love you with absolutely everything in us. We vow to lean towards the good that lives within. Thank you for yet another beautiful day; it is in your mighty name that we pray, AMEN!
