Episode 238

TODAY’S READING:

6 In my distress, I called to the LORD; I cried to my God for help. From his temple, he heard my voice; my cry came before him, into his ears.

Psalm 18:6

Over the last 11 months, I have gotten to learn more about your stories and your struggles. While most of us are in different seasons or experiencing different mountains and valleys, we all have one common struggle.

We all know someone who may be sick in their bodies.

Today I wanted to take some time for us to sit in prayer. It’s nice to start the day off looking for ways the Lord can speak into our personal lives, but it is equally necessary for us to pray for those who need it.

So if you are sick in your body, this prayer is for you. If not, please take a moment to think of all the people you may know who are battling an illness in their bodies.

If you don’t know anyone, if you would, please pray over my sweet friend’s mom, who’s been battling cancer for a year. Cancer has spread, and it might take a miracle, but the good news is that our God performs miracles.

No matter what happens, we know that God hears us. He hears our prayers; He hears our petitions as we fight and believe for those we love most. May they be healed in Jesus’ name. May He hear our cries. May He comfort us when we need it most. May we surrender when we don’t know what else to do.

PRAYER

Father God, today we lift all who are sick. We each have a person or two that instantly comes to mind. It may even be us, father. I pray that you begin to heal the broken bodies. May you purify them from any illness, may you restore what once was. May you help us in defeating anxiety, depression. May you bring comfort to those whose loved ones are battling dementia. May you bring comfort to those whose loved ones are battling cancer. Lord, you warned us that in this world, we would have trouble, but we know that you have overcome this world. No matter the outcome, we know that the best is yet to come. We thank you for hearing our prayers. We ask that you bless the day ahead of us. It is with everything in us that we pray, AMEN!

Hi, I'm Ali.
I want to encourage you on your faith journey!

I'm the coffee obsessed baker from Miami, FL who got too busy to find time to read scripture everyday. I knew my life was better with Jesus and I knew I wasn't the only one struggling with finding alone time with God every morning, so I put my dreams of opening a bakery aside and set out to produce a five minute daily devotional. What first started as an email chain, has now flourished into a beautiful community and I am so happy you are here!

MY TESTIMONY

We are a faith based community in pursuit of daily prayer. All it takes is five minutes - we know you're busy but He loves you still.
