Episode 244

TODAY’S READING:

But you, O Lord, are a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness.

Psalm 86:15

I have spent this last week prepping the kitchen and getting ready for my soft opening. If you don’t know, in late March, my life changed forever when I had the opportunity to secure a commercial kitchen.

It had been a dream to open my very own bakery, and I am now officially operating out of a kitchen serving my baked desserts at a food hall and getting ready to launch on Uber Eats next week.

A year ago, I would have never believed it would be possible, but I am walking out of this dream. Even on this mountain top, I have had dips and twists and turns I didn’t see coming, but this is the verse I chose to hold onto.

He is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness.

My paster preached this weekend a message about When God Gets Mad. He said God is an emotional being, but He is never changing. He was the same yesterday, is the same today, and will be the same tomorrow. I am not sure if you are in a season where you feel God’s mercy or God’s discipline, but they both make us stronger.

Abounding means very plentiful, abundant. He is faithful. Not just faithful sometimes, but abundantly faithful. He will get you through where ever He has you. He will get you to the mountain top; He will walk with you in the valleys. He disciplines us; He showers us in grace. He is a good good father, and we are lucky to have Him in our life.

PRAYER

Father God, we take your love, mercy, and faithfulness for granted but not a day goes by that we don’t think of you. You are sorry for the times we have run from you. We are sorry for the way we react when things don’t go our way. We are sorry we take your love for granted, but we are thankful for the abundance of faithfulness that you show us. You have been faithful in our homes, in our careers, in our relationships. You have been faithful in our health. You are a faithful father, and we love you. Thank you for being the leader of our life. It is in your Holy name that we pray, AMEN!
