Episode 245
TODAY’S READING:
For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
Psalm 139:13
Happy Friday! I wanted to pray for a devotional that would prepare us for the day ahead of us and will help us reflect on this weekend.
The idea that God knows our very essence is one of the most beautiful parts of our relationship with Him. When we look around, we see that we are all different. We don’t look the same, talk the same, share the same thoughts. We each have our own dreams and experiences. We have different perceptions. Different physical traits. Different beings. Yet He took the time to carve us in all of our details.
I pray that we never take that for granted. I pray that we look at what makes us different, and we rejoice in it.
Now, I know that Mother’s Day is on Sunday, and I am praying for each and every single one of you.
I am praying for those of you who are mothers. I am praying for those of you who have lost your mom. I know that she is dancing in heaven. I am praying for those who have strained relationships with their moms. May the Lord heal what is broken. I am standing with those in believing that God has called you to be a mother. I am praying for those who’ve adopted, those who have been mothers for their nieces and nephews.
So many different stories are celebrated this weekend. Some will be apart from their moms, and others will be right there next to them.
No matter where you are, God is faithful, like we said yesterday. I hope that you have a beautiful weekend. I can’t wait to pray with you again on Monday.
PRAYER
Father God, you created our most intimate details. You know the hairs on our heads. You know what gets us to laugh and what makes us cry. You know our fears; you know our heart. We thank you for creating us the way we are. A lot of the time, we complain about something. Our eye color, our inability to sing or dance. The way we look, or the things we can do. We are sorry we criticize your work so much. We would never walk into an art gallery and ask to speak to the creator. We would never bash their masterpiece, yet we do it all of the time. We are sorry. We ask that you forgive us for that. We thank you for the weekend ahead of us. We pray for those who are moms, new time moms, expecting moms. We pray for those with sick moms or whose moms are dancing in heaven. We pray for those who want to be moms. May you bless them. We love you with everything in us, AMEN!
