Episode 246

TODAY’S READING:

19 Now, the Lord God had formed out of the ground all the wild animals and all the birds in the sky. He brought them to the man to see what he would name them, and whatever the man called each living creature, that was its name. 20 So, the man gave names to all the livestock, the birds in the sky, and all the wild animals.

But for Adam, no suitable helper was found. 21 So the Lord God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep, and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man’s ribs and then closed up the place with flesh. 22 Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man.

 

23 The man said,

“This is now bone of my bones

  and flesh of my flesh;

she shall be called ‘woman,’

 for she was taken out of man.”

 

24 That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh.

25 Adam and his wife were both naked, and they felt no shame.

Genesis 2:19-25

 

Happy Monday, Everyone! I felt like it was time to dive into a new series. This one is going to be long and pretty much continuous. It will be made up of mini-series. It’s possible on some Wednesdays in the middle of the series; we will bring in a guest prayer warrior.

 

Over the next few months, we are going to be studying different persons in the Bible. I don’t want to rush studying these different people and their nature and what we can from them so we may find some people that will take us longer to study like, David and Moses and then others that won’t take us too long. No matter what, we will have a gold nugget or two to take with us throughout the day. s through

 

We are starting with, of course, Adam & Eve. I think there is a lot for us to learn about them over the next few days.

 

The was something that really stood out to me while I was reading this chapter. Notice how it was made very clear how the Lord form out of the ground all the animals and birds in the sky.

 

I don’t think that detail was a mistake. I don’t think any detail in this beautiful Bible is a mistake.

 

A few verses later, we see that Eve was formed from Adam. A few verses earlier, we read that Adam was made by God from breathing life into him. There is something extra special about us to God. He created us on purpose for a purpose.

 

I hope we spend our days honoring the life inside our bones. 

 

PRAYER

Father God, thank you for the life you have breathed into us. We so often take for granted all that we have been given. Thank you for being such a generous father. Thank you for the dominion you have given us; may we look after our home. We ask that you bless the week ahead of us. With everything in us, we pray, AMEN!
