Episode 255

TODAY’S READING:

12 God saw how corrupt the earth had become, for all the people on earth had corrupted their ways.

Genesis 6:12

Happy Friday!

Noah’s ark was always an interesting story to me. Before we get to this point, we know hundreds of years have past since Adam and Eve because a few verses back, every generation following Adam was named.

So it took some time for the corruption to infiltrate everyone on earth.

But once it had set in, God wanted a reset.

The difference between God of this time and the God we know today is that Jesus paid the ultimate price. So we don’t have to worry about a flood, but we do still have to be weary. The same corruption looms, and it’s up to us if we are going to allow it to enter our hearts.

We can find corruption at every level; it exists in the school system and among the highest seats of government. Why? Because this world is the enemy’s playground and corruption is his love language.

The good thing about the God we serve is that he has a different love language, and that is grace. How lucky we to have a father like this.

My prayer for us today is for us to stay weary from the corruption. Try and guard your heart from allowing such poison to infiltrate. Let’s lean onto him for strength.

PRAYER

Father God, we know this world is broken, and corruption looms in every corner, but today and every day, we work to guard our hearts. We don’t want to let any of that poison find a way inside. If it lives within us, I pray that you make it known to us so that we can surrender it to you. Thank you for another beautiful week; we ask that you bless the upcoming weekend. It is with everything in us that we pray, AMEN!
