Episode 285

TODAY’S READING:

So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.

John 8:36

We are FREE indeed. I love this verse. I love this declaration. I love this promise over our lives.

But there is a keyword in this verse that caught my attention.

IF

If the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.

Jesus died on the cross for us all. Gentiles and jews. The world at large. We are all His creation. But our faith hangs on true acceptance of what He did for us. It hangs on if we truly accept it in our hearts.

Now, let me preface today’s Devo by saying I hope you feel welcome here. Even if you don’t believe like me, I wanted this to be an outlet for everyone to grow closer to their creator each morning.

I am not a pastor, nor pretend to be one. I am just a girl sharing her prayers with you all every morning.

The story of Jesus is a beautiful one. It’s the reason we can live in the abundance of Grace. It’s the acknowledgement that life is hard, life throws us curveballs, and we cannot do it alone. We all need someone to get us through the day. And we don’t look to imperfect people or worldly obsessions like food, drugs, video games, or social media. We look to a perfect savior, and that is Jesus.

One goes the greatest thing about our relationship with Him is that He pursues us all differently. Your testimony is different than mine.

True freedom comes when He and He alone sets us free. My life is a testimony to that, as I am sure so many of you have the same story to tell. My prayer is that others see the work of Jesus in our lives. Not by the way we talk about Him, but in the way we talk in general, act, and in the things we do, especially when we don’t mention His name, this way. It’s no shock that we are Christians when we do mention His name. They should see His love and grace flow through us. We should be an extension of His love. To me, freedom is choosing to see the world through His eyes.

PRAYER

Father God, thank you for searching for us. Thank you for never leaving the one behind. We pray that every day, we are an extension of your love. We pray that others see you and feel you through us. We are FREE indeed. Free in your grace, love, and mercy. We thank you for this past week, and we pray for the weekend ahead. It is with everything in us that we pray, AMEN!
