Episode 287

TODAY’S READING:

You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love.

Galatians 5:13

The things we indulge in. Too much TV, too much Social Media, too much candy, too many sweets, too much INSERT YOUR VICE.

We know our weaknesses. We know what we lose ourselves too.

Our faith allows us to have victory over such things. We have the freedom and the gift of self-control. We can say No. We can walk away.

1 Corinthians 10:13 says:

No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.

Don’t you know, Jesus was all God and also ALL Man. Meaning He knows exactly what we feel when we are tempted. Tap into the strength of self-control.

Instead, channel your energy into loving others humbly. Not because you are told you have to, but because you want to.

Watch yourself as you go about your day. Do not serve your flesh, rather serve God. Serve His people. Ask Him for ways in which you can help Him in reaching others. That is how you can unlock your truest potential. It is an honor to use the gift of life to help another in need.

PRAYER

Father God, we all have our vice. We all have that one thing we are powerless over. Some of us know what it is. Some of us struggle with perfectionism, control, social media, drugs, sex. We all have something. Some of us don’t know what holds power over us. Today we declare to break free from it. We are no longer bound by shackles but free in Christ. We have the power to walk away from what hurts us. We want to use our energy to love the people around us. We want to extend kindness and grace to others, as you extend that to us. Bring us to know people—open doors for us. Use us as a vessel. Let us help you in reaching others. We love you, and we pray in your mighty name, AMEN.
