Episode 291

TODAY’S READING:

8 Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me!”

Isaiah 6:8

Every day God asks His people, Whom shall I send? And every day, we have the choice to say, Here am I. Send me.

I read a question the other day that said, have you figured out the meaning of life. While I don’t think I can confidently say there is just one answer, I can confidently say that a big part of the true meaning of life lives within our willingness to serve the people around us.

What good are a million dollars if you have no one to share your life with? The meaning of life isn’t to work so hard you miss the little moments; the meaning of life is to be there for one another. Not just those we know and love, but those that we don’t know.

Today I am asking for prayers for my people in Cuba. Sometimes just prayer is enough. Sometimes just a conversation is enough.

Today’s takeaway is simple, where is our heart? Are we in a posture of “Here I am! Take me?” Or are you hiding in the shadows? We should be ready to go wherever God calls us, if that is within our home walls or miles and miles away. When He calls, I pray we all answer the call.

PRAYER

Father God, thank you for another week. Lord, we are here, and we are ready to be sent. We know that as you ask us this question, we have to be prepared to go wherever you send us. We know that it may take us out of our comfort zone, but Lord, we are here, and we are ready to serve where you need us. So push us to the limit today. We thank you for yet another beautiful day. It is in your Son’s mighty name that we pray, AMEN!
