Episode 292
TODAY’S READING:
“Yet give attention to your servant’s prayer and his plea for mercy, Lord my God. Hear the cry and the prayer that your servant is praying in your presence this day.”
1 Kings 8:28
Another day! Another prayer!
I know that our God hears us. I know He hears us when we cry out to Him. I know that we are all battling different things. Some of us are in the trenches right now. I have a close friend whose mom has been in the hospital over the last few days as she continues her fight against cancer.
I know some of you have loved ones that are still fighting.
I know the people of Miami are on fire for what is happening in our country. I know my family is praying day in and day out for God to heal the brokenness and to bring freedom to His people on the island.
I know that as you pray for your jobs, financial health, relationships, He hears you.
This verse does say something that I hope we can all take away. It says, gives attention to your servant’s prayer. Keyword, servant. The question we have to ask ourselves every day is how are we serving God today? Or are we just demanding answered prayers? I hope we are leading by example in our lives. We need to ask ourselves, how are we serving Him? Are we serving His people? Giving of our talents and treasure. Are we lending an ear or a hand? Are we keeping our souls pure?
I do believe that it is by grace and through grace alone, so we don’t have to act a certain way to get an answered prayer, but I do also believe that we reap what we sow, and I pray we are always vigilant of what kind of seeds we put in the ground. I know faith is the best kind of seed because no matter what we face, with faith, we can move mountains. So exercise your faith today, cry out to God, and He will respond. He hears your cries.
PRAYER
Father God, we ask that you answer our cries. We all bring our very specific needs to you, Lord. We know non of them are too big for you. We know that you hear us, and you heal our hearts as we present our needs to you. We thank you for what you’ve already done, and we are helpful for what is to come. We love you with everything in us, AMEN!
