Episode 298

TODAY’S READING:

For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit,

Romans 14:17

This verse is a reminder for us all that the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, in the sense that it’s not something we can enjoy in the physical, but something that is far greater.

The kingdom of God is about being in right standing with Christ, it’s about peace, and it’s about the joy of the Holy Spirit that resides inside.

Let us ask the question today, how do we practice righteousness, how do we stay in a state of peace, and how can we hold onto our joy?

It’s important for us to be mindful of these things. So easily, we can become distracted, different things can steal our joy, and in one second, we can lose all that Jesus can give us if we fixate on the stress or the bad moments.

Don’t let anyone steal your joy today. Let’s make that promise together.

PRAYER

Jesus, we love you. Thank you for your presence, your grace, and the kingdom you so graciously sacrificed yourself to give us. We devote to being mindful today of being righteous, staying in a state of peace, and not allowing anything to steal our joy. We love you with everything in us! AMEN!
