Episode 304

TODAY’S READING:

Jesus replied, “Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and it will be done.

Matthew 21:21

At some point, our problems get so big we can no longer afford to walk around them. At some point, we just have to look at the mountains in our lives, and we need to tell them to jump into the sea.

That was me today as I got on my peloton. Today is day 4 of working out. I did it every day at the hotel gym, and I knew if I didn’t jump on the bike and get in 20 minutes of cardio, I would fall into a bad cycle of neglecting my body.

This battle of mine isn’t about weight loss; it isn’t about looking a certain way; this battle of mine is about chasing the right habits. It’s about taking care of the only body God has given me.

So when that little voice crept in, the one that doesn’t want me to care for my blessings, I looked at it, and I told it to jump into the sea.

My prayer today is that I stick to it. I hope your prayer today is that you confront what binds you. Is it school? Is it your current season? A relationship in your life? Financial troubles? Dreams to start a business? What is it that you have been walking around? It’s time to look it in the face and tell it to move.

PRAYER

Jesus, today is a good day to ask some mountains to move. Lord, we all have something that binds us. We all have something we have been ignoring for way too long. Lord, today we surrender it, today we move it, today we make a change. We aren’t waiting for a Monday. We aren’t waiting for a new month; no, we are doing it right now. We are surrendering what holds us hostage, that which keeps us turning at night. We are ready to walk in the freedom you’ve granted us. It is in your Holy name that we pray AMEN.
