TODAY’S READING:

For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace.

Romans 8:6

 

Happy Monday, my friends. I hope this week is a great one for us. I know that I am excited to get in the swing of a new routine.

 

We are that two-month mark before my sister’s wedding, and it’s starting to feel so real. I’m so excited for her to be entering this new chapter.

 

Today I wanted us to focus on what’s important. We are officially in the back half of the year. Before we know it, the holidays are here. To think of that makes me a little anxious. Time is flying, and we can’t stop it.

 

It’s so easy to get lost in that which doesn’t matter. We get stuck on the flesh. Feeding that which we think is important. We focus on things that make us happy. We focus on making more money or looking good for someone else. Rather than focusing on the spirit. Like serving others, giving our time, helping those in need.

 

When was the last time you did something for someone?

 

I pray we are intentional this week. Intentional about listening to others. Intentional about leaning closer to God. Intentional about listening to the spirit. 

 

PRAYER

Jesus, we love you, and we thank you for a new week. God help us navigate this last half of the year. Help those of us starting a fast. Help those of us who are ready to go deeper in the spirit. Lord, I want to lean on you; I don’t want to feed my flesh; I want to feed my spirit. I thank you for being the light of my life. It is in your holy name that we pray, amen!
