Episode 320
TODAY’S READING:
When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life.”
John 8:12
Yesterday, I got a little real with you all, and to be honest; I was a little nervous. It seems like it was a good Devo because I got so much feedback from you all, and it just proves how this is all God, and I am honored to be His vessel.
Since we talking about running away from fantasies yesterday, I thought this verse would be fitting for us today. Remembering the power of the light that we can run towards.
Following Jesus means we never have to walk in darkness. We talk about the ups and the downs. But if we started to rearrange the way we speak, I think it could have a powerful outcome.
Instead of saying, “this is a dark season,” we can remember that we never have to walk in darkness. So instead, we can say, “this is a tough season, but there is always the light of our life to hold onto – the light of our life is Jesus.
I know, I know singlehandedly how hard it is to look at situations and say, Jesus, where are you? But can I promise you one thing? He is there.
I am not a Pastor; I am far from perfect; I can’t speak on a lot of things, but I can always give you one promise, and that is that Jesus is closer than your very breath. You can run straight into Him. You never have to walk alone; the light of your life is right there. He wants to guide you, lead you, help you. He knows what’s best for you.
PRAYER
Jesus, we love you! We are so excited for the day ahead; no matter the obstacles, we know we never have to walk in darkness. Lord, no matter how hard it gets, no matter what we face, we know we can trust you. Lord, today we pray for our community. May you make your presence known to them, guide them, intervene in their life. Lord, bless them. We all wake up eager to spend a few minutes with you. It is in your Holy name that we pray, AMEN!
