Episode 328

TODAY’S READING:

11 If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me

and the light become night around me,”

12 even the darkness will not be dark to you;

the night will shine like the day,

for darkness is as light to you.

13 For you created my inmost being;

 you knit me together in my mother’s womb.

14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;

 your works are wonderful,

 I know that full well.

Psalm 139:11-14

Today’s devotional is brought to us by Joy Payne! Tune in to where ever you listen to your favorite podcasts to listen to today’s devotional.

So how often do we feel like we’re in the dark when it comes to our fate, and even really with our relationship with Jesus. I know for me, I have walked through deserts in my faith journey where it seemed like I was walking in relentless circles. The life I was living seemed pointless and almost like God just wanted me to walk through more disappointment and pain, striving towards what God had called me to just wasn’t working. And Satan was thriving on my discouragement, making me feel like I should just give up and that I would never truly measure, or have what it takes for the calling that God has placed in my heart. Psalms 139 is for me the reminder that I need to know that God is for me with me and fighting for me, even in those dark places that I walk through, where it seems the morning light just won’t breakthrough. He promises us in Philippians 1:6  that the good work, he started in us, you will continue to perfect and complete. So friend. Be reminded that those circles you seem to be continuing to walk in and the battles you keep fighting. They’re not there to just upset you. They have an eternal purpose for discipline for love. And for a greater victory to be seen in the coming days, Jesus is only working and set to action his plan of perfecting and completing the beautiful story that he has written for you.

Prayer

Jesus, you’re such a good father. Thank you for specifically placing unique gift sets and callings and each of us as we daily surrender those things to you. Would you give us hope for the Knights that seem to never end, endurance, for the seasons that seem mundane and confident confidence in your mighty name that what you have started in us, you will finish? We’re so excited and expect it for the amazing ways. You will use us to grow to your kingdom. We pray that as it is in heaven, so shall it be here on our fan the flame of faith in us Jesus. We love you. Amen. Amen.
