Episode 349
TODAY’S READING:
And this is love: that we walk in obedience to his commands. As you have heard from the beginning, his command is that you walk in love.
2 John 1:6
What does it mean to walk in love with you? Well, I can tell you what it meant to me as I was preparing our devotional. Walking in love means sharing the love I have found.
Walking in obedience and walking in love is simple. We are called to spread the love and light of Jesus to everyone around us using our testimony.
So I think of where I have been. I think of how far I have come in all areas of my life, and I put on the posture of gratitude. I remind myself of the treasure I have found. The deep and personal relationships I have. The hope and the promise of my future.
I look to my creator, and I say Thank You, Father. Thank you for choosing me. Thank you for depositing wild dreams. Thank you for giving me strength for the day ahead of me. Help me in sharing it with just one other person. Lord, if my story helped one, then it would have been enough.
God is good, my friends, and I can shout that with confidence. My business failed, my dad is still sick, I am not married yet, I can’t afford to buy a home in this crazy market, I am watching all of my friends start a family, and I could focus on all of that, but instead I choose to say, God is good. He is faithful. He is my provider. I have breath in my lungs, food in my belly; I have dreams that will impact a generation. I have faith that I can move mountains. What else do I need? Today I will walk in love, and I hope you do too. I hope you look at the blessings in your life, and you choose to share them with others. Together we can spread the light of the world to a world that so desperately needs it.
PRAYER
Jesus, you are so good. You fill us with our every need. You are our friend, our provider, our world. We love you. Today we walk boldly in love. We vow to share the wonder of your power in our lives so that we can impact another. We want people to know that you and you alone have impacted our lives. It is with everything in us that we pray, AMEN!
