Episode 360

TODAY’S READING:

His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.’

Matthew 25:23

We all want to hear “well done, good and faithful servant,” but we have to pay attention to the following line. “You have been faithful over the little; I well you over much.”

The concept of taking care of what we already have to be blessed with more isn’t a hard concept to understand. You would never eat half of your plate and then serve yourself more.

Well, I prayed through this verse today because I finally got home from basically a week of travel between the wedding and then this business trip; it feels as if I have been away from home for a long time.

I got into my room, and it was upside down. It always happens when I leave my normal routine for a while. But it got me thinking of the importance of taking care of what we have. My room should be taken care of. I can’t expect God to bless me with a larger home if I don’t take care of what he’s given me now.

So take my messy room, for example, spend some time organizing the gifts you’ve been given. Be faithful with what you already have. God can’t give you more until we learn to be proper stewards of what we already have.

PRAYER

Father God, thank you for another beautiful week. Thank you for blessing us all. Thank you for the week we have had, and thank you for the opportunity to gather like a community. God, today we spend time organizing what we already have. We thank you for blessing us, and we devote ourselves to being faithful with the little so that you may bless us with more. It is in your holy name that we pray, AMEN!
