Episode 361

TODAY’S READING:

Give us this day our daily dread

Matthew 6:11

Why do we chase the future or live in the last at the expense of the present?

Yesterday my Pastor preached a great message on the idea of being present. And it spoke to me, and I thought I would relay it to you all.

“Faith is only active in the present” think about that. You can only have faith today. Because what you we’re praying for, you’re walking in. You wanted the position you’re in now. You prayed to be wiser, and you are. You had the faith everything was going to be okay, and here you are, living in that reality.

The truth is we can’t have faith for tomorrow. Our faith is that there will be a better tomorrow, but we can’t possibly know what we will hope for in the future.

We can’t live in the future, just like we can’t stay in the past. Our job today is to enjoy where God has us today.

PRAYER

Father God, thank you for this beautiful day. Lord, today we recognize that we prayed to be here. We have waited for this moment, so lord, today we surrender our need to live in the future, and we release the shackles that bind us in the past. Today is a new day. Give us our daily bread. We love you with everything in us, AMEN!
