Episode 362
TODAY’S READING:
An intelligent heart acquires knowledge, and the ear of the wise seeks knowledge.
Proverbs 18:15
This verse spoke to me. You must be wise to seek, but only those who are intelligent will acquire knowledge.
Are wisdom and intelligence not the same thing? The answer is no on many different levels, but you and I have to strive to be both.
You would think wisdom meant you were intelligent, but the truth is you could be wise and still be a fool. You know it is wise for you not to call your ex-boyfriend. You know it’s wise for you to put down that donut. But intelligence is when we act upon wisdom rather than emotion.
This weekend I met with my mentor from college, and he said to me the two greatest things we could pray for is to ask Jesus to expand our borders and ask him to protect others from us. So, in other words, don’t let us hurt anyone.
I thought both were valid points, and two, we had the full capability of executing daily. But I have found that we can’t expand our borders if we are not behaving from a posture of wisdom and intelligence.
So let us be intelligent today. Let us act upon our wisdom; let it not be in vain. Let God expand our borders; may we impact more today than we did yesterday.
PRAYER
Father God, we thank you, Lord. We thank you for giving us wisdom and intelligent hearts. Today we prepare ourselves to act on those gifts. Let us not toss them aside and serve as fools. Lord, today we ask that you expand our borders. Bless this Tuesday! It is in your Holy Name that we pray, AMEN!
