Episode 363

TODAY’S READING:

His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him, who called us by his glory and goodness.

2 Peter 1:3

How much do we know about our God? Maybe you only know a little. Maybe you listen to this podcast because someone shared an episode with you, and they seem to fit your morning schedule.

Maybe you are a scholar in theology. You know the timeline and the stories as if they were your own.

Maybe you are somewhere in the middle.

But I don’t think that we need to know a whole lot for this verse to apply to us today.

Why? Because it isn’t about how much we know, but if we reread this verse, it says His power has given us everything we need.

Jesus comes into our lives in different moments. Sometimes we are younger in age, other times we are in our later years. It doesn’t matter. When He meets us, an instant deposit is made into our spirits, and it is everything we need for a godly life.

As we go deeper and deeper in our relationship with Him, He will reveal more of Himself to us. We elevate to a higher standard of living each day. Not because He expects more of us, but because we are growing with each passing moment.

A toddler first learns to eat with their hands, but we all know if you’re in middle school, you are expected to eat with your fork. Still getting fed, but the standard changes.

Wherever we are today – His power has given you everything you need for a dolly life because you know Jesus. You know his character. You know that he isn’t looking for perfection. He’s just looking for you.

So whether your Godly life looks like a toddler eating with their hands or a Godly lifestyle built over years and years of deepening your relationship with Him – you have what you need.

PRAYER

Jesus, we thank you for giving us the power to live Godly lives right here right now. Lord, we are all in a personal relationship with you, and they all look different. I don’t care if we just met you today or if we’ve known you for years; you promise to give us everything we need to live a good life, a godly life. So today, we commit to turning away from evil. We commit to escape the corruption in the world. We love you with all our hearts, it is in your Holy name we pray, AMEN!
