Episode 364
TODAY’S READING:
You, LORD, are my lamp; the LORD turns my darkness into light.
2 Samuel 22:29
Well, yesterday was fun. The episode didn’t load properly and so either you have a double episode today, or you got the chance to listen to it later on in the day. A learning lesson that nothing in this world is perfect, technology glitches, the person controlling technology can perform errors. Many things can go wrong.
This leads me into today’s devotional. We have to put our full trust in God because everything else under the sun will fail us, especially if it’s man-made.
We haven’t done this verse in specific, but we have studied many others that sound similar. He turns darkness into light. There is a reason it is said multiple times. We have to hear those words, read those words, over and over again so that it sticks.
October 10th was Mental Health Awareness Day, and my faith journey started because, in 2016, I had hit the lowest mental state of my life. I was exhausted, I weighted the world on my shoulders, and I just didn’t want to keep doing it. So I had to find a church, and what I found wasn’t a holy sanctuary but true salvation.
My God turns darkness into light. Sometimes the darkness is a season, sometimes darkness is a bad day, sometimes darkness is all you know, but He is light. He is love. Give Him your darkness. Turn it over to Him and watch how you start to have a better outcome.
Healing can be miraculous, but it can also take time. We all have a battle ahead of us in our homes, careers, schools, finances; let’s look to our lamp for help in all of these areas. He cares so deeply because it matters to you.
PRAYER
Father God, today we look at what is dark in our lives and give it to you. You are our lamp, our guide, our light, the love in our lives. We want you to shine in every corner of our lives. Shine in our relationships, in our health, in our finances, in our homes, in our careers, in our ventures. We ask that you lead the way today, and we hold onto what is good. We love you; it is in your holy name that we pray, AMEN!
