Episode 380
TODAY’S READING:
Do not forget the covenant I have made with you, and do not worship other gods. 39 Rather, worship the LORD your God; it is he who will deliver you from the hand of all your enemies.”
2 Kings 17:38-39
A lot of us battle enemies every day, and rather than give it to God; we look to things of this world to help us.
We so often forget the covenant we have with Christ. We forget His promises, we forget His power, and we turn to social media, clothes, people, and or money to help validate our worth.
For a long time, I thought my enemy was a tangible person or a group of people. Maybe people who didn’t want the best for me or didn’t want me to succeed. With time I realized those weren’t my enemies, but simpler things were. Perfectionism haunted me for years. The battle for my self-worth was something I battled for years, and instead of turning to God, I looked to other people, social media, and money for help.
I pray we are all free from that. I pray that we know that God is the only God we serve and that He can handle and wants to take care of all of our enemies. He wants to put an end to perfectionism. He wants to put an end to social validation. He wants us to lean on Him.
So let’s do that today. Let’s remind ourselves that He is On The Throne!
PRAYER
Father God, you are the father of miracles. You are the God of all things. Lord, today we give you our enemies. We give you perfectionism, we give you the self-worth battles, we give you the lack of confidence, we give you the need for control, and we surrender our lives to you. You are the only one we worship, so we surrender our impulse to lean on this world. We thank you for blessing this week, and we look forward to the weekend ahead of us. It is in your Holy Name that we pray, AMEN!
