Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Before we fully dive into the different things we are grateful for, I wanted to establish what we must be most thankful for… first.
That is our relationship with the Father through the love of his son. Through our relationship with Jesus.
Do you understand what it truly means to live a life where we don’t have to be anxious about anything?
I know we don’t because it’s the hardest lesson to learn. By nature, we need to know that it’s going to work out, and by His nature, He needs our faith.
Take the car accident, for example. I can only imagine a world where I would have gone home and gone to sleep peacefully. I can imagine I would have showered, laid in bed and said thank you for handling this one for me., and then closed my eyes to go to sleep.
Strangely, I did do that. I said, thank you, Lord, it could have been worse. But the reality is that my mind was racing in the back, asking all of the questions in the dead silence of the night.
My car was paid off, now I need a new car, what if the car payment is too high, the cost of everything is up, can I afford an electric car?
I ended up waking up in the middle of the night three times and hung over the toilet in the bathroom. Anything that I ate on Sunday was officially out of my system for good.
Why did this happen? Because the anxiety of this world got to me. It poisoned my peace and my body.
Today I want to sit in the presence of our God and say thank you, Lord. Thank you for taking care of it. Thank you that it’s going to work out. Thank you for taking care of me like always. Today I want to bring to him all of my worries. I want to cast all of that, which keeps me up at night.
I want to feel the peace of the Lord that transcends all understanding. I am so grateful I serve a God who cares for me, one that takes the burden off my shoulders, one that carries the pain for me.
Father God, in this vast universe, you still care for me. You still care for the person on the other side of this mic. With billions on this planet, you see us. You love us. You work all things in and for our good. Thank you. Jesus, we thank you for your sacrifice. We thank you because you are the most important thing in our lives. I love you with everything in it, and I ask that you continue to bless our lives. It is in your holy name that we pray, AMEN!
