Episode 384
TODAY’S READING:
Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.
Colossians 4:2
Today I wanted to continue our Attitude of Gratitude devotional series and reflect on the opportunity that we have in our faith. We have direct communication with our creator. We have a lifeline to heaven, and that is through our prayer life.
I started this podcast because my prayer time was slipping, so I did this to keep myself accountable, and along the way, a lot of you jump along with it and join me each morning.
Praying daily helps. It sets us up to have a righteous day. Just because we are walking in righteousness doesn’t mean that things always go right. We have good days, and we have bad days, but it’s in the loud moments that we get to stop, pause and pray. We live in a reality where at any moment, you have to speak to God.
Communication with God makes the bad times better. It makes the good times great times. The atmosphere changes when we pray. It humbles us and reminds us that we cannot and have not been doing life alone. We need him, and we would be rude if we didn’t take the time to say thank you.
So be thankful that you live in a country in which you can express the freedom to pray. Let us be thankful that we have faith that allows us to communicate directly to the father. Let us thank a savior who came and sacrificed himself, so this would be our very reality.
Thank you, Jesus.
PRAYER
Lord, we have direct communication with you; we are so grateful. We devote ourselves to our prayer life. May we take time to read more scripture, to worship more often, to share our testimonies with others. May we spend more time talking to you about what we are walking through than with our friends. Let us devote ourselves to prayer. Thank you for keeping the line of communication open. Thank you for being our lifeline. It is in your son’s holy name that we pray, AMEN!
