TODAY’S READING:

Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. 

James 1:17

 

Day 5 of the Attitude of Gratitude series, and it’s time to dive deep into our passions and careers.

 

What we do matters. Why? Because you are in a season designed by God. You are using your gifts, if you notice it or not. This verse says every good and perfect gift is from above.

 

Meaning the gift of security is from him, and we find that in our careers. The gift of passion comes from him, one of the most important things we can find. The will to do something even if it doesn’t benefit you financially.

 

Our passions and our careers both allow us to use special gifts that only we have. That is a blessing, and we must be grateful for what we have been given.

 

We are to use what we have for His glory in all of the spaces he has us inhabiting.

 

So if we have the gift of singing, let us sing boldly; if we have the gift of organization, let’s use it to better companies. When we use our gifts, things change, and if done with pure intentions, the best kind of change can begin to occur.

 

Thank you, Jesus, for the will to advance, for the will to use the gifts you’ve given us to better our circles of influence. 

 

PRAYER

Jesus, thank you for our different gifts. Lord, together with the standing unit, there is nothing we cannot do. Lord, thank you for bringing so many unique people together each morning. Thank you for your individual gifts and careers. Today we ask that you bless us, bless us as we go into work this morning. Bless us as we get home and give in to our hobbies and passions. May we do it all to lift you higher. It is in your holy name that we pray, AMEN.
