TODAY’S READING:
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Romans 15:13
Yesterday was Thanksgiving, and it was a beautiful time with our families. And I am praying that you guys had a great day as well. I know that sometimes you can have a little bit of an argument with someone, and they may cause a day to go a little bit out of what you were expecting. But either way, I hope that you had a beautiful day, not today.
I wanted to talk about how filled I feel. And I’m hoping and praying that you feel the same way. Yesterday before we ate, my entire family. We held hands, and we all went around the circle, and we talked about that that we felt grateful for. And one by one, we shared our gratitude for our families, for our friends, for the health in our families, and for the different opportunities that we’ve had. We’ve had marriages, we’ve had proposals, we’ve had new homes, we’ve had different things enter no babies this year, but different things enter our homes and our lives this year as a family. We were so grateful that we were 30 in total. And it was a moment that just reminded me of the goodness of God, how he overflows our cups how when we ask for it.
He provides it wasn’t always so easy with my family. We’ve gone through a lot. We’ve had a lot of loss, and it’s been a wild ride. But I am so thankful that God chose these people to walk life with me, and I’m so grateful that we get together and we get to pray together. We get to laugh together. We get to dine together; we get to share community. Now wherever you are, whatever your Thursday looks like, I’m praying that you have that joy either today or at some point in the future. So I’m praying for you to know you have a beautiful family, and the future of things may not look that way now. And I’m praying for restoration in any broken homes.
I’m just praying that the hand of God be over your life and that you feel that even in whatever circumstances you may be that you are overflowing, you know, may the God of hope fill you with all the joy and peace as you trust in Him so that you may overflow with hope, by the power of the Holy Spirit. I just wanted to say that against you understand that we are to be a body of people that overflow because of him. He fills our cup; he fills her bellies. And today, especially the day after Thanksgiving, the day after we, you know, are with family, we can look and say thank you, Jesus. Thank you for filling our bellies with more than what we asked for. And Lord, if it’s not today, it’s going to be one day because we want a relationship with those closest to us.
PRAYER
Father God, thank you for a beautiful Friday. Thank you for giving us yet another day. Thank you for joining us in prayer today. Lord Today, we look at our cup, and we are so thankful that it overflows. Lord, thank you for giving us more than what we asked for. And thank you for continuing to bless us here for over a year. Thank you for your love. Thank you for your sacrifice. Thank you for what you are doing when we don’t see it. Thank you for what you are doing when we do see it. We love you with everything in us, and we think you this beautiful, beautiful holiday season. It isn’t your son’s holy name that we pray for today and this weekend. Amen.
