Episode 413
TODAY’S READING:
Cast your cares on the LORD, and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken.
Psalm 55:22
We care a lot. We care about a lot of things. We care about what we are going to wear, what others think. How many likes our next piece of content will get. We care about what car we are going to drive in and the size of the house we live in.
There are a lot of cares in the world, and sometimes we drown in them. As I prepare for the new year and I look at the things I want to achieve, I want to be careful that I am set on producing righteousness strides in my health, career, finances, and spiritual life.
I want to be the kind of person that cares about what really matters. I want to care about the actions I take and the words I write and say. I want to care about who’s impacted life because I was obedient when God asked something of me. I want to care about the ripple effects of every dollar donated. I want to care that my time here is not wasted but truly enriches the lives of others. I want to care about the food I put in my body, not because I want to look good in a dress, but because I want to live a healthy life.
The greatest part about getting ready for the New Year is that when we plan for a great year through the lens of righteousness, we know we will be sustained in every way. He won’t let us be shaken.
So as we make our lists, choose our words, and find the verse that will sustain us through the year, let’s make sure they align with what truly matters. Let us then cast all of our cares onto Him.
PRAYER
Father God, as this year comes to an end, we couldn’t help but thank you. Thank you for a wonderful year, and thank you for caring for our care. Lord, we are all getting ready to prepare our hearts for a new year. A new season. New goals. New cares. Lord, may they all stem from righteous places. And if they don’t, may you make it known to us. We ask that you bless this beautiful Wednesday! It is in your Holy Name that we pray, AMEN!
