Episode 422
TODAY’S READING:
1 God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. 2 Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, 3 though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging.
Psalm 46:1-3
Life’s storms hit us, and we sometimes get thrown off balance. Sometimes we get mad. We love our creator; we still pray, and we serve at Church, but deep down, you are upset. You are made because for a second, you thought your troubles had finally left, and then they returned.
I like to read verses like this because it reminds us that even all the years ago, people were still experiencing everyday trouble. They were faced with fear. They were faced with challenges.
I don’t want us to ever diminish the pains we’ve walked through, but I do want us to realize that Jesus was right there next to the disciples when the storm hit their boat, and he slept. Surely He is right beside you as you face life’s biggest challenges yet.
I want to take note of that. Let us sleep through life’s biggest debates. Let’s take time to unwind, disconnect from each other and connect to our life-giver. Let us spread more love than chime. Let us love each other like we know we already do.
PRAYER
Lord, we thank you. We thank you for your love for us. Dwelling amongst us. We understand that for generations and generations, people have experienced similar turmoil. But we thank you for never getting tired of us. Thank you for being our refuge and your strength. You are our Knight in armor, protecting us from fear and all that comes with it is. We love you with everything in us, AMEN!
