Episode 430

TODAY’S READING:

For when I have brought them into the land flowing with milk and honey, which I swore to give to their fathers, and they have eaten and are full and grown fat, they will turn to other gods and serve them, and despise me and break my covenant.

Deuteronomy 31:20

When we are blessed, we can sometimes become so in love and involved with the blessing that we forget who gave it to us.

In the case above, the Israelites started to serve other gods and forgot who gave them the promised land.

A lot of us have a promised land. Something we prayed for, something God promised to us. Our one goal is to make sure that we honor Him at all times.

An example in modern society would be people who pray for a significant other. They pray, and they sow offerings, they fast, they did it all to ask God for a partner to walk into their lives.

Then finally, the person of their dreams walks into their life, and they begin to date. After a few months, they stop going to church, and out of nowhere, the relationship is getting praise and Glory, and God is nowhere to be found in that blessing.

I hope that in everything we do, He always gets the Glory.

PRAYER

Father God, we thank you, and we love you. Today we acknowledge that we may get caught up in all of the blessings you give, and Lord, sometimes we forget that they were gifts from you. Lord, today we take a long look at our life, and we are going to ensure that you always get the Glory. You get the Glory for the things you are working in and through us. You get the Glory for the blessings that come our way, and we always fix our eyes on you. We love you with everything. It is in your holy name that we pray, AMEN!
