Episode 437
TODAY’S READING:
“13 Moses said to God, “Suppose I go to the Israelites and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they ask me, ‘What is his name?’ Then what shall I tell them?”
14 God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I AM has sent me to you.'”
15 God also said to Moses, “Say to the Israelites, ‘The LORD, the God of your fathers—the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob—has sent me to you.’ “This is my name forever, the name you shall call me from generation to generation.”
Exodus 3:13
A beautiful translation of who God is and probably one of my favorite names. By far. Not only is he a healer, not only is he a miracle worker, not only is he a comforter, not only is he a person or our God who fights before us who walks before us who protects us. Not only is he all of these things, but he is all of these things. He is the Miss of these things. So he is not someone who carries love, He is love, and he’s not someone who is a protector. He is our protector. There’s nothing else that can protect us the way God can. Nothing. There is no shelter; there is no hurricane shelter. For instance, in Miami, there is nothing in this world that can protect me, that my father, and there is nothing in this world that can give me joy, like the presence of God. And there is nothing in this earth that can give me peace and like our father, and so that is what we need to hold on to.
He is who he says that he is who is the fullness of love.
He is the fullness of peace. He is the fullness of strength. So when we’re praying for strength, really, we’re just praying for the Holy Spirit to give us where he already is. And I understand that sometimes we may have those questions like How is he God and also the sun and also the Holy Spirit and we believe in all three and how to do all three work, and that’s a conversation for another time, but he is the fullness of the three in the Holy Spirit resides in us. So when we’re looking for Yahweh, when we are looking for the one who says that he is who he says he is, he is the Holy Spirit that resides inside of us.
So today, if you’re looking for strength, tap into the fullness of strength that is inside you. Because I am who I am. It lives inside of you. And if you’re looking for joy, if you’re looking for a healing, if you’re looking for a miracle, God says He is who He says he is. And we get to live in the joy of that we get to be people who will look to our father and have the confidence all of the confidence in the world to declare that he is who he says that he is.
Prayer
God, you are Yahweh, you are who you say that you are, you are the great I AM. So, Lord, we look to you for everything, absolutely everything that we need our strength or peace or joy or healing, our protection, our prosperity, they all come from you. Lord, we love you with absolutely everything. And we ask that you continue to teach us to nurture us and to love on us. We ask that you bless the day ahead of us, and it is in your holy name that we pray this day in and day out. Amen.
