Episode 446

TODAY’S READING:

Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.

1 John 4:7

It’s not just the strongest power on earth, but it is the strongest power in heaven. Love is what makes God different. It’s what makes Him so perfect.

Imagine what the world would look like if we, as this verse instructs. Imagine if we truly all loved one another.

To be Christian is to love. It is to love despite. Despite the hurtful things that we said. Despite the feeling to run away. Despite the feeling of telling off the person who cut you off or the person who stole from you.

The problem is that we are flawed, and we see the flaws. But we get angry at the things that make us humans. We get angry at the short tempers others express, at the selfish moments, at times the other party wasn’t “using their heads”… so many things that cause us to get frustrated and become upset.

What makes us different from Jesus is that He saw all of our flaws and chose to love us either way. He had radical love. The kind that is impossible to explain, but the radical thing is, when we start attempting to love on others the way Jesus does, we start to see the world through a new lens. The lens of grace, and it is in those moments that we can see the true works of heaven right here on earth.

PRAYER

Father God, we want to love more. Show us how to be more forgiving. Show us how to relate to other people, especially when angry

or upset. We want to be more like you and more like your son. We want to do as this verse says and love one another. We want to a people who know you know your nature that we replicate it and impact others in a positive way. We love you so much, and it is in your Holy Name that we pray, AMEN!
