Episode 468

TODAY’S READING:

For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ.

2 Corinthians 4:6

God’s glory is displayed in the face of Christ.

Jesus is what we seek. Every day, something anything can happen, and we allow dark moments and thoughts, and experiences to cloud our judgment.

When that happens, we long for the light to guide us. The light shines out of the darkness, but as this verse says, we can see that displayed in the face of Christ.

So when darkness hits, let’s pay attention to the way Jesus walked and talked. Let’s pay attention to his words and his actions. Let’s look at how he loved and taught, how he was a pillar of strength and a fountain that quenched. Jesus is the light we need every single day, and sometimes the best prayer we can ever pray is, Lord, help me. It reminds you that you need someone, you can’t do it alone, and that someone you need is Jesus.

PRAYER

Lord, today we ask for strength for when darkness hits. We look to you for your guiding light. We thank you for the face of Christ. We thank you for the direction and the strength, and the love we find in Him. We ask that you bless this beautiful Wednesday; it is in your Holy name that we pray, AMEN!
