Episode 472

TODAY’S READING

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.

2 Corinthians 1:3-4

These are two beautiful traits of our Father. He is compassionate, and he is also our comforter. He can meet us where we are in every situation, and he is able to comfort us in a way that is unparalleled to anything in this universe. Our Father is a loving father. He is a father that guides us and leads us; he’s a father that, like we said yesterday, is our refuge, and he gives us these abilities or this tool in life. Compassion really in order to be able to succeed at the things that we do. Knowing that even when we fail, we have loving hands to hold us.

Now we can do that and extend the same grace and the same level of comfort and the same level of compassion to those around us because he gives it to us because we received that from God. And this verse says we are able to comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves received from God. And so there is underlining we have to meet people in the same way that God meets us our comfort has to be a reflection of how he comforts us. And we can look at our life, and we can look at the lives of those around us. And we can see how we are all connected through the Spirit, and we have the ability. We have the power to extend his kindness to extend his compassion to extend his comfort into the life of another just by receiving it wholeheartedly from him. So, to be a blessing to someone else, you must fully accept the blessing of Christ. So whatever you’re going through, remember that he means he with compassion, and whatever you’re battling, remember that he is our comforter. He is the one that we can lean on. He is the one that we can hold on to. So today, if you’re battling sickness in your body, hold on to the comfort that he meets you with compassion right where you are. If you’re dealing with something at work, something that homes financial troubles, whatever it may be.

The Lord sees you, and he meets you with compassion, and he is your comforter. At that point, your testimony will speak volumes when you contact other people who may be going through something similar, and you can meet them with the compassion and comfort that God met you.

Prayer

Father God, we love you so much, and we thank you for being our comfort. We thank you for being so compassionate, Lord; we thank you for meeting us with compassion, with meatiness with grace. Thank you for being there for us, Lord; we love you so much. And we just thank you for being the strength in our days, and we thank you for the ability to be a blessing in someone else’s life because you were first a blessing in our life. We promised to be the hands and feet of Jesus everywhere we go. We love you so much. And it is in your son’s holy name; we pray for today in the week ahead of us. Amen.
